GPL violations are copyright violations

• Copyright law grants exclusive rights to copyright holders
  • Such as distribution
• When you distribute the software, you must have a license
  • If you don't, you infringe copyrights
• When you do something which is outside the GPL, you don't have a license
  • So, GPL violations are copyright violations
  • Subject to all statutory penalties
