Works that use the Library, linked with the Library: Technical

• Make sure users can upgrade the library by one of:
  
  1. Include source code to the library and
     • object code or
     • source code for the executable
     • so that the user can modify the library and relink the executable
       
  2. Or make these materials available via:
     • an offer to provide this to the user at cost
     • or just stick a copy in the same directory on your web site
     • or the user can tell you that they've already got a copy
       
  3. Don't distribute the library
     • Instead, use dynamic linking
     • and let the user provide the library
       
• Note on Java and Python:
  • If you distribute bytecode (or source code) of the library with the application, it's considered linked
